For mere om ayurveda ophold se HER.
ABOUT THE TOUR
During this amazing trip, we will experience the warmth and hospitality of the Gurung tribe by staying at homestays run by families and exploring their very nutritious and interesting cuisine. In addition we will be practicing traditional Hatha and Kundalini Yoga in its very birthplace and with uninterrupted views of the Himalaya.
The second half of the trip will be spent on the banks of the pristine Begnas Lake where we will be able to immerse ourselves in a more serious practice of Yoga, while being introduced to Ayurvedic principles and relaxing in peaceful surroundings.
The best part about this trip is we will have a very good experience of the mountains and culture, but will be comfortable at all times as we will not be going over 2000 metres. This means that altitude is not going to be a problem and that it is going to be warmer, greener and more conducive for Yoga than if we were to go to the higher mountains.
ACCOMMODATION
During the trek we will be staying at local lodges and home stays. The accommodation will be in small, charming family-run places which are clean and serve good, wholesome food. At the home stays we will also be treated to local delicacies and cultural engagements.
Located on the southern banks of Begnas Lake, 12 Km East of Pokhara city, the resort is completely cut-off from the chaos prevalent in the rest of Nepal. The resort itself does not have any direct road access and the only way to get there is a 20 minute boat-ride from ‘Begnas Bazaar‘ or a 10 minute walk down a forested path from the closest village ‘Sundari Danda’. Truly peaceful and surrounded by nature.
For the past ten years, the resort has been reviving Ayurvedic practices of the region with a full complement of certified doctors, therapists and a kitchen that turns out delicious, nutritious Ayurvedic food. In addition, the resort grows most of their fresh produce in-house using organic methods and follows a policy of environmental responsibility.
YOGA INSTRUCTOR
Having started practising yoga at seven years of age, Ramesh was introduced to a variety of yoga practices by his parents who continue to maintain the spiritual and cultural traditions of Nepal.
With plenty of experience overseas as well in Nepal, Ramesh has been teaching Hatha Yoga, Mantra, Pranayama and Nada yoga for the last decade. The incorporation of singing bowls, Yin Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yantra imagery and Mantra into a foundation of Hatha yoga practices ensure that Ramesh’s students enjoy an enriched yoga experience that unites both the physical and spiritual elements of these traditions.
